Frequently Asked Questions
1) What makes your photography service stand out?
After graduating with a degree in photography from Drexel University in 2012, I've had the opportunity to photograph for clients ranging from small families to companies such as Maybelline, American Express, University of Chicago Press and Reebok. Since learning photography on analog film in the dark room, I developed not only a a great respect for the technical craft of image making but also a passion for using the camera to tell the stories of others. I strive to capture genuine moments using mostly natural light.
2)Where do you photograph portrait sessions? How long do they last?
I photograph most portrait sessions in the home or outdoors using natural light. I can recommend a ton of wonderful locations that provide beautiful backdrops and I have a knack for finding photogenic spots near the client's home. I am able to rent a studio space and provide on location strobes and backdrops for additional costs. Most sessions last between one and two hours, though I stay with the client till we are both happy with the images. Times can greatly vary based on how many people are being photographed, location etc.
3) Help! I really do not like being photographed!
No reason to worry! All sessions are very laid back and as someone who does not love being photographed, I totally understand. I take my time with client's and I make sure to show photographs to the client as we go along.
4) How do you accept payment? Do you offer any payment plans if we cannot pay the price in full?
Junelight accepts cash, check or Venmo. A 35% deposit is required within five days of the shoot. Client's may cancel up to two days of the shoot for no fees.If canceling within two days of the shoot Junelight keeps 20% of the deposit. All payments must be made before receiving any photos.
5) How do you choose which images to send? Can we see all of the unedited images?
Part of the service of Junelight, is having Emily choose which photos look best for editing. Clients are able to see unedited images and choose an additional 25 images to be edited for a service fee starting at $300. There are headshot and portrait sessions where the client may choose which photos they would like edited. Please contact Emily for additional details :)
